Red Iron Delivered

Workers had to deal with heavy rain but they did get eleven (11) semi-trailer loads of steel unloaded today. The Steel is the super-structure for the first phase of the buiding. The contractors had expected to be ready to erect the steel about the time it was delivered but rain delays have slowed the process. Since the ground is supersaturated with moisture, it is expected that very little work can be done next week.

More Rain Delays

We received four inches of rain on the job site over the weekend and it has delayed the progress on the project. Before the rain started, all the walls on the lower level had been poured and the forms removed. The only progress this week has been by Brown Construction. They have been tieing the steel to put in the footers of the main building. In addtion, the contractor has been pumping surface water from the site to facilitate the drying process and allow the workers to continue the process. It is expected the work will continue as planned Thursday afternoon.

Wall Poured

The footings and the half the walls on the lower level have been completed. It is expected the asphalt will be started on the parking lot on Monday. The weather has been very cooperative the past few weeks and the progress has been faster than expected. We have received $373,000 from the state facilities division as reimbursement at this point and have turned in documentation to receive another $475,000 for the past quarter of the year.
